The winter-wind playing inside the island

Dimitri is a dear friend of the bookshop who has his atelier a few doors away.
He paints Icons in a traditional style that is quite rare nowadays.
Dimitri works with Tempera or egg-tempera which is a permanent fast-drying painting medium consisting of natural pigment mixed with egg yolk.
Tempera paintings are very long lasting and exsamples of the 1st century AD are still here to prove this.
Artists used this technique till the 14th century/late middle-ages when they switched to oilpaint which is having more deep and durablitiy

We ate the body and the tentacles and the eyes whom you can see on the picture. The eyes? yes and we did that because the Inuit/Eskimos give these to their children as candy…so we tried the same to feed our curiosity. The conclusion is that they are nice …funny enough even better then the rest of the quid… I think this is because the eye is salty and is a welcome taste if you have not been able to season your outdoor meal.

While eating you can find the hard lens of the eye..you can take it out and get fascinated by the light spectacle inside and then throw it away since it is not eatable.
You can find a bright purple chalky substance which reminded me of the color of purple violets.
